Shenoy Engineers, PC is proud of our work on the Greater Newark Conservancy’s Urban Environmental Center. This was a gut rehabilitation and our work included a code and scoping study, design and construction administration services for all the HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm and fire protection systems in connection with the renovation of the main building and addition. This building is among the oldest synagogues in the country, and the addition is made from recycled hardwood, reflecting the Conservancy’s dedication to sustainability and regeneration. The project has a LEED Silver rating and features a sustainable site, water efficiency, natural ventilation, natural day-lighting, and environmental friendly paints and finishes. The architect of record is Sage and Coombe Architects.
