Trusting our expertise and experience in forensic MEP projects, SCA invited us to evaluate and assess damage sustained by boiler plants in over 70 NYC schools that were partially or completely submerged during Hurricane Sandy. Our engineers worked closely with SCA assisting in their efforts to put together reports and responses requested by FEMA, OMB and the Mayor’s Office. Shenoy was highly commended by SCA for the outstanding service provided during post Sandy reconstruction. Some of the work included:
Evaluation and in-depth testing of boiler plants per FEMA/OMB/DOB requirements; special testing and inspection of selected boiler plants; pilot burner conversion and DEP approval per plaNYC; pilot ventilation studies and evaluation needed to control PCB levels in schools; condition assessment for flood elimination; and condition assessment of climate control systems.
